INDIAN ELECTRICITY RULE

>    Important rule  for safety & Earthing practice is based on IE RULE 1956 .

RULE 35 > Warning plate

if voltage is above 400 v there should use warning plate .

RULE 44 > Penality of interferance with meter

first aid equipment in every building

RULE 49 > Leakage current  in a cable should not above 1/5000 of full load current

RULE 33 > Supplyer should be provided with earthing for consumers .

RULE 54 > % change in voltage at consumer end

(LOW)  max  voltage varition = +_ 6%

          for hoigh voltage = +_ 6 to 9 %

          for extra high voltage = +_ 10 to 12.5 %

According to IE RULE voltage level

 low voltage = 0- 250V

Medium voltage = 250 - 650 V

High voltage = 650 to 33 KV

Extra high voltage = 33 KV - 132 KV

Super extra HV = > 132 KV

Permissible voltage drop in lighting circuit

                                                          = 2% of supply + 1V

RULE 55 > % Change in frequency at consumer end declared frequency of supply to consumer max = +_ 3%

UPPCL Q. - MAX PERMISSIBLE FLUCTATION =1%

RULE 61 > Connection with earth

  > if voltage is greater then 125 V there should be earthing point

RULE 46 > Where an installation is alrady connected to the supply system of supplier , every such installation shall be periodically inspected and tested at interval not exceding 5 years either by inspector or officer .

RULE 77> Clearence above ground of lower conductor

parallel with road - lv &hv = 18 ft

                                hv & ehv = 19 ft

cross the road - lv & hv = 19 ft

                          hv & ehv = 20 ft

RULE 79 > Clearence from building of low medium voltage lines & service line
